Down Home Recipes

SMITH HOUSE PECAN PIE (GEORGIA)


  • One 9” pie crust
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup dark corn syrup
  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ¼ cup brandy
  • 1 cup pecan halves

    -- In small mixing bowl, beat eggs, sugar, salt, butter, syrup and cream.

-- Stir in vanilla, brandy and pecans.

-- Pour into pastry-lined pie pan.

-- Bake 40-50 minutes at 375 degrees or until filling is set and pastry is golden brown.

-- Cool and serve. Yield: 8-10 servings.
